Blackthorn is Salsa’s 29er all-mountain bike — a well-balanced machine built for riding rugged descents, technical climbs, and everything in between with confidence. It strikes a balance point in the full-suspension 29" category, holding traction on the way up and composure through rocky, rooty terrain, drops, and jumps on the way down. This build uses the 145mm-travel configuration, tuned for more aggressive all-mountain capability. This build rolls on a SRAM Eagle 90 Transmission drivetrain.
Features
- Split Pivot suspension design that isolates pedaling forces from braking forces, tuned independently for efficient climbing and composed descending
- Offered in 125mm and 145mm rear-travel versions (both on 29" wheels), sharing a frame but tuned via shock and link for nimbler trail riding or more aggressive all-mountain capability
- Flip Chip geometry adjustment for altering bottom bracket height and head tube angle to suit terrain or wheel size
- Aluminum and carbon frame options to fit different price points and weight priorities
- On-bike cargo mounts for extra bottles, repair kits, camping gear, and ride accessories
