Update: The Mainline Greenway & A More Walkable Haverford

Update: The Mainline Greenway & A More Walkable Haverford

Updates:

1. Ride from Haverford to Bryn Mawr

On Friday November 8th, Eric Hartman will lead a short ride to envision a low-stress route between Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges.

  • Friday, November 8th
  • Departs Haverford's VCAM Building at 1:30pm
  • 1.2 mi community pace, inclusive, low-stress ride
  • After exiting the campus together, ride follows this route

2. Town Planning Commission Meeting Cancelled

Monday's meeting at the Lower Merion Planning Commission was cancelled! Our voices were heard by the builders and they want to reconfigure their plan before presenting. What an accomplishment! Our work is not done. We must continue advocating for our public spaces and maintain momentum for this project.

3. Haverford Spoke Up

Preliminary results from the survey are in. So far, 100% of respondents are for health-based infrastructure. Unsurprisingly, 98% of respondents feel that roadway safety threats prevent them from walking, running, and biking in the Haverford area. We have a long way to go. The survey is still open. Voice your opinion and share.

4. The Mainline Greenway is Well-Received

Last week, news of The Mainline Greenway echoed throughout social media and the news cycles of our area. Our  blog post was shared far and wide and even picked up by some local news outlets. As of writing this blog post, the story remains the featured article on MainLineTimes.Com . It doesn't stop there: from 2-3pm, preceding the free screening of Motherload this Saturday, there will be an Open House to discuss The Mainline Greenway. Complimentary refreshments will be provided by Bike Delaware County and Bike Montgomery County.

We will continue to update and report on these matters on our blog. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date with cycling events on The Main Line.
