The Meerkat 24 inch kids bike comes stock with a Sturmey Archer 5 speed trigger shifter paired with a 5 speed internally geared Sturmey Archer hub. This combination equates to quick, efficient shifts without the worry of chain drops or being out of gear.

If your adventurer wants to pack her tools, water, granola bars, lucky keychain, compass, extra socks, apple, walkie-talkie… she can take it with her on the Meerkat. Front and rear rack mounts make adding a basket or rear rack a cinch and usher in a world of bike packing opportunity.

No matter how bikes fit into their growing universe, there’s one thing young riders all have in common: the need for high-quality, confidence-inducing hydraulic disc brakes. Yep, the Meerkat’s got those, too.

The Meerkat’s sealed hydraulic disc brakes (front and rear) stop surely, regardless of weather.

These bikes are light weight, making Meerkats easy to handle and less intimidating for little riders. Cleary designs all bikes with a low center of gravity, resulting in a very stable, easy-to-balance ride. The Meerkat comes with front and rear rack and fender mounts so this bike is ready for the Elementary School commute in all weather. The internal hub gears mean this bike will shift perfectly for your Elementary Schooler, no matter how tough they are on their bike. This kid's bike is made out of real bicycle components, not toys. Hydraulic disc brakes function more like a button-push than a lever-pull so these are easy to brake with little hands. The bottom line is this is the safest bike you can get for your child.

Meerkat best fit for riders with an inseam of 22" to 26". The Meerkat has a low bottom bracket height, which allows a rider with a 22" inseam to comfortably start out on the Meerkat. The seat tube angle on the Meerkat allows the bike fit to grow along with the rider. The seat moves up and back as you increase saddle height, so even a 5’ tall rider will fit the bike well.
